Signal is an alarm and event monitor that notifies users, or other applications, of important events.
Signal can send you the content of the alarm, or a user-defined message. Signal monitors for:
- Keywords in the message's Content, Type, Class or Tag fields
(ex: Send a page when the
word "Critical" is in the message content)
- A series of events or events within a certain time span
(ex: Send an e-mail when Tags FIC101 and
FIC102 are both in alarm within 1 minute)
- Actions you have placed on the Signal scheduler
(ex: Print the operator report every day at 10:00 pm)
Signal will even notify administrators of PC or network problems, including port inactivity.
The following transmitters are available for sending Signals:
- Pager - The Pager component will send a numeric or alpha-numeric page to a user or users.
- Email - The Email component allows you to send an email to a predefined user or users.
- Universal Application (UA) - The UA will run any application capable of using a Command Line interface.
- Auto-Print - Auto-Print automatically sends an event to a local or network printer.
