 Capture LCN Data to a "Manageable" ASCII File 

A low cost, easy to use, flexible tool for capturing data. Creates ASCII format text files for use in Microsoft Excel or other data analysis packages.

Capture data for performance monitoring, process troubleshooting, control loop step tests, offline tuning, etc...

One effective and convenient Display Source file used on the Universal Station or GUS Native Window allows for easy and intuitive setup of Tagnames, collection interval and duration. Collect data for up to 8 Points simultaneously.

Easy - Call up the DataTrap display and:

  • Enter the Point Tagnames.
  • Select parameters desired: PV, SP, OP and MODE.
  • Select optional Anti-Aliasing filter.
  • Select sample period (between 1 to 600 seconds).
  • Select sampling duration: max. 24 hours at Ts ³ 30 sec.; max.
  • hours at Ts < 30 sec. (actual duration may be limited at Ts = 1 or 2 seconds).
  • Select destination path & filename and select START.
Anti-Aliasing Filter - User has the option of using a First Order filter. Time constant calculated to achieve approx. -7.7 dB attenuation at the Nyquist frequency of 2×Ts (Sample Time). Takes into account any existing PV filtering detected (effective Second Order filter).
Custom Trend Display - Track all 8 points.
Online Help - HELP key provides assistance.
Free - support & software maintenance releases are provided for the life of the product.

Requirements:

  • Honeywell TDC 3000 Release 430 or later with an Application Module (AM) with FILE and CONV external load modules. Adds 2 Custom Data Segments (CDS).
  • No Background CL or AM/CL extensions required.
  • LCN file transfer device (i.e. Bernoulli or Zip drive).
